- On Monday, UNICEF reported that more than 300 children have been killed in Sudan over the last six months, mostly from drone strikes.
- The Sudanese military and Rapid Support Forces have fought since April 2023, with drone warfare causing 60% of casualties across Kordofan, Darfur, and Blue Niles.
- "Children are being caught in a relentless cycle of violence, displacement and deprivation," said Sheldon Yett, UNICEF Representative for Sudan, as attacks on schools, markets, and water stations put over 500,000 people at risk.
- At least 59,000 people have died and 13 million are displaced, while more than 30 million require humanitarian assistance amid siege-like conditions.
- The United Nations has called on all parties to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian access, as fighting for control of the strategic city of el-Obeid in North Kordofan continues.
