The number of women who have undergone female genital mutilation in the Netherlands has increased in recent years. In 2018, there were 40,994 women, and in 2023, 43,428. This is evident from new figures from the knowledge institute Pharos. The results were presented during a symposium and will soon appear in a study commissioned by the Ministry of Health, reports the NRC.
