Moon bears feel grass for first time after rescue from illegal farm
Moon bears, also called Asiatic black bears, were rescued from tiny cages at an illegal bile farm and experienced feeling grass under their paws for the first time after the rescue.
Free the Bears and Lao authorities conducted Southeast Asia's largest bear farm rescue, saving 27 young bears aged between 1 and 3 years old.
The farm in Laos confined 27 young bears aged 1 to 3 years in small metal cages inside a shed.
Ten bears completed quarantine at Luang Prabang Wildlife Sanctuary and were allowed to explore their enclosure.
