Monument to Black Revolutionary War heroes in Annapolis takes another step forward

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, AUG 9 – The Maryland Board of Public Works approved $311,500 for a monument honoring Black Revolutionary War patriots, set to be completed by July 2026 on statehouse grounds.

The plan to fund a monument to honor Black Marylanders who fought in the Revolutionary War has been approved by the state’s Board of Public Works. The Board of Public Works is made up of Governor Wes Moore, Treasurer Dereck Davis and Comptroller Brooke Lierman. At Wednesday’s meeting, Lt.
