Monroe clarifies state flight data, claims to have 2nd busiest non-commercial airport in North Carolina

MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Monroe officials clarified state flight data released last month to announce that its airport was the second businest for general aviation in North Carolina.  City records show that there were 71,628 takeoffs and landings at the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport (EQY) in 2024.
