Young people's interest in farming has been declining significantly in recent years. Only a good three percent of Slovenian farms are run by people under the age of 35. The Ministry of Agriculture is allocating a total of 13 million euros this year to encourage young people to take over family farms. But even this is clearly not enough. Namely, the funds intended for young farm takeovers have remained unused for the past two years.
