EU ministers could reportedly agree in early September to open the first negotiating cluster with Moldova, a key legal step toward membership, ahead of the country's Sept. 28 parliamentary elections.
According to the representatives of the European Commission, Moldova and Ukraine have already fulfilled all the requirements for opening negotiations with the EU
The European Union takes into account the agreement of a major push of the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the Community block, prior to the parliamentary elections from the end of September, which would have placed it before Ukraine for the first time.
The EU is considering granting the Republic of Moldova an important step in its EU accession process, ahead of the parliamentary elections to be held at the end of September, placing it ahead of Ukraine.
