BENGALURU, INDIA, AUG 10 – The 19.15-km Yellow Line will serve nearly 800,000 daily commuters and reduce traffic congestion at Silk Board junction, with Phase-3 expansion foundation stone also laid by PM Modi.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 19.15 km Yellow Line connecting RV Road to Bommasandra with 16 stations on August 10.
- Delays arose after CRRC, the Chinese firm, failed to meet the 75 percent local manufacturing rule, resolved by partnership with Titagarh Rail Systems.
- Built at Rs 5,056.99 crore, the Yellow Line is expected to benefit nearly eight lakh commuters daily.
- Thanks to Modi’s personal push, the Yellow Line Metro will meet the August 15 deadline with the August 10 inauguration, Surya said.
- Looking ahead, the future expansion involves a 44.65 km Phase-3 network with a Rs 15,611 crore foundation stone, benefiting nearly 25 lakh commuters.
