Mister Rogers Stamp Wins US Postal Service Contest, Will Now Be Reissued
The 2018 design returns as Forever stamps and a four-image souvenir sheet after drawing more than 500,000 votes, USPS said.
On Sunday, the United States Postal Service announced that the 2018 Mister Rogers stamp won the 2026 Stamp Encore contest, earning reissuance after a public vote.
To celebrate the organization's 250th anniversary, USPS invited the public to vote over 10 weeks on their favorite from 25 classic stamp panes, receiving over 500,000 votes.
The iconic stamp secured the win by more than 40,000 votes over the runner-up, demonstrating enduring popularity after the original design sold 12 million copies in 2018.
Available exclusively at the Boston 2026 Expo through May 30, the reissued Forever stamps and four-image souvenir sheet will launch nationwide and online June 1.
USPS art director Derry Noyes, who designed the stamp, attributed the victory to Rogers' "universal appeal," ensuring the soft-spoken icon's legacy endures.
