Mississippi Headwaters Board funds buckthorn survey in Aitkin County

BRAINERD — The Mississippi Headwaters Board approved two projects proposed by the Aitkin Soil & Water Conservation District for a total cost of $6,800, including a survey for invasive buckthorn. Buckthorn is a shrub that harms natural ecosystems as an invasive species.
