A missing elderly woman was found dead in a remote area off a highway in San Bernardino County. On May 13, Lorraine Bird, 86, of Twentynine Palms, was reported missing by family members. On Monday, May 19, 2025, at approximately 5:16 p.m., deputies with the Morongo Basin station responded to a call for service regarding a deceased person located off Highway 247 and Bodick Road in Johnson Valley.
