Miss World 2026: Indian contestant Nikita Porwal concludes her journey in the top 40
Nikita Porwal ended India’s Miss World run in the Top 40, while 20 finalists advanced at the pageant finale, organizers said.
On Saturday, Nikita Porwal concluded her campaign at the 73rd Miss World in Vietnam, finishing among the Top 40 contestants. Her elimination before the Top 20 ended India's bid for a seventh crown.
The Ujjain-born Porwal won the Femina Miss India World 2024 title and established herself as an actor and television presenter. She graduated from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda before representing India internationally.
During the competition, Porwal showcased Indian culture through a performance inspired by Goddess Meenakshi and presented Project MAATI, her social initiative. The program focuses on tribal women and children, providing education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
At the grand finale, Porwal wore a sculpted gown with Italian tulle and paid tribute to Vietnam in a traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai. The Miss India Organisation praised her for carrying India with "grace, conviction and heart."
India's streak of placing at eight consecutive Miss World editions continues with this result. The country has produced six winners, including Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra, with the search for a seventh title ongoing.
