Mauritania's army has lost contact with a military boat carrying seven soldiers while it was conducting a rescue operation off Nouakchott. The vessel had been deployed to assist the disabled patrol boat Maksem Boubacar, which was later rescued and safely towed to port by the Coast Guard vessel Arkin.
