US EditionMini Teams up with Lifestyle Brand for Bold JCW Collaboration
Mini and Deus Ex Machina showcase two unique Mini John Cooper Works models: one electric with 258 hp and one petrol-powered with 231 hp, highlighting design and motorsport heritage.
- On September 6, Mini and Deus Ex Machina will reveal two bespoke John Cooper Works one-offs named The Skeg and The Machina at Mini JCW X DEUS NIGHT, with both exhibited through September 14 and an apparel launch on September 8, 2025.
- BMW Group Designworks collaborated with Deus Ex Machina to refashion three-door JCW hatches, blending Mini's racing DNA with Deus's surf-and-bike culture, while Carby Tuckwell oversaw the Skeg concept building on earlier N�rburgring cooperation this year.
- The Skeg pairs surfboard-inspired fittings with a fiberglass dashboard, wetsuit tray, neoprene seats, semi-transparent fiberglass panels cutting 15% weight, and published power figures show 258 hp electric versus 231 hp petrol for The Machina.
- Both cars remain concept-only and show-only, with Mini saying design cues and hand-finished Deus logos could inspire future special-edition Mini models.
- Alongside the one-offs, Mini will present additional electric models such as the Aceman SE and Countryman SE ALL4, while BMW debuts the production-ready iX3, showcasing John Cooper Works petrol and 100% battery powertrains.
