The Mechelen criminal court has sentenced a 21-year-old man from Wilrijk to two hundred hours of community service for the severe beatings he inflicted on a young man from Rijmenam. This happened in the parking lot of the Carré dance hall in Willebroek. The victim was in a coma for a month and had to undergo months of rehabilitation. “We will never get our son back,” his mother responded emotionally to the trial.
