Milwaukee Tool recalls more than 90K chainsaws because safety feature can fail

- Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. announced a recall of about 90,860 M18 FUEL top-handle chainsaws with 12-inch or 14-inch bars in the United States, due to potential chain brake failure.
- Milwaukee detected a safety defect in the chain brake that may fail to activate; the chainsaws were manufactured in the United States by Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. of Brookfield, Wisconsin.
- An additional 7,500 units were sold in Canada and the saws were offered at Home Depot, other home improvement stores and online from March 2023 to September 2024.
- Consumers who purchased the recalled saws should immediately stop using them and register online for a prepaid shipping label to return the chainsaw for repair; Milwaukee Tool can be contacted by phone at 833-953-2012.
- Milwaukee reported two incidents of brake failure, including one lacerated finger, and the battery-powered saw sold individually for about $350 or as kits for about $790.
