The clarification came in response to an initial concern about a possible cell transfer, raised by his lawyer.
On the morning of Friday, July 11, military personnel were deployed to sectors of the Pascuales district to conduct arms and ammunition control operations.
American lawyer Alexei Schacht revealed at the court hearing that José Adolfo Macías Villamar, alias Fito, could face an assassination attempt before being sent to the United States. Schacht accuses sectors inside Ecuadorian prisons of orchestrating an ambush in order to eliminate the leader of Los Choneros. Counsel reports that
The National Service of Integral Attention confirms that Adolfo Mac as, alias "Fito", remains in detention at the Guayas N. 3, under police and military guard. To state that no transfer has been carried out.
