Micah Parsons provides promising injury update for Packers fans
Parsons said on his podcast that he is nearing a return, while coach Matt LaFleur said the Packers are still waiting for medical clearance.
Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons is nearing a return from a torn ACL and MCL, though he will not play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football." Parsons remains on the physically unable to perform list.
Parsons, 27, underwent surgery on Dec. 29 following a Week 15 injury last season. The Packers typically hold out players for at least nine months after ACL surgery, and he is now about nine months removed from the operation.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said on Monday, "I think we're getting closer," stressing the team awaits medical clearance. LaFleur emphasized everything must be "in sync" to prevent overcompensation injuries and ensure long-term health.
On his podcast "The Edge with Micah Parsons," the star questioned the timeline for his return. "What's the point of getting me back for four weeks," he said, citing concerns about recurring injuries like groin problems.
While acknowledging he would play if this were the Super Bowl, Parsons emphasized long-term health over returning for a specific game. "I just need two healthy knees," he said, prioritizing full recovery.
