- Johnson recorded four interceptions last year, including two returned for touchdowns, and stands 6-feet and 193 pounds. Sullivan described the cornerback as "strong/physical," citing his 4.4 40-yard dash time.
- Earlier on Thursday, the Dolphins selected Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor with the 12th overall pick. These two selections represent Sullivan and new head coach Jeff Hafley's first draft choices with the franchise.
- Johnson earned All-Mountain West and All-American honors and is expected to compete for an immediate starting role in Miami's secondary. The Dolphins retain picks 75, 87, and 94 for the remainder of the draft.
