Chicharito Signed by Expansion Atlético Dallas in the USL Championship
- On Monday, USL Championship expansion team Atletico Dallas announced the signing of Mexican soccer star Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez as the club's first-ever player.
- Former LaLiga and Ligue 1 player Peter Luccin serves as the team's inaugural manager, announced in February. "Players earn respect through the standards they set every day," Luccin said of the signing.
- Hernandez, Mexico's all-time leading scorer with 52 goals, previously played for Manchester United and Real Madrid. "I came here to help build the future of football in Dallas," Hernandez said.
- Soccer insider Fabrizio Romano reported the signing, noting Hernandez is expected to contribute immediately. The team will call the Cotton Bowl home, sharing the venue with Trinity FC.
