- The FDA issued a safety advisory urging restaurants to "carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that the product touched." Both Qdoba and Chipotle replaced affected jalapeños with product from different growers.
- Because both chains removed affected products, the CDC said there is no "current ongoing risk from these establishments to consumers." Officials are investigating whether recalled peppers reached grocery stores.
