Mercedes-AMG Reveals the First Photos of the New Four-Door GT's Racy and Ritzy Interior
Mercedes-AMG's redesigned GT 4-Door interior blends tactile knobs with large screens and ambient lighting to enhance driver control and human-machine interaction.
- In a teaser released today, Mercedes-AMG revealed a driver-focused interior for the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, developed by the AMG Affalterbach interior development team with tactile physical controls.
- Responding to criticism, Mercedes says consumers and Mercedes customers yearn for buttons and knobs, prompting a balanced operating concept blending tactile, haptic, touchscreen, and voice controls with the MB.OS operating system.
- Notably, three illuminated rotary control knobs adjust Response, Agility and Traction with nine stages, while a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, canted 14-inch center touchscreen, optional 14-inch passenger display, physical buttons between wireless charging cradle and illuminated cupholders complement MBUX software HVAC toggles.
- With pedigree, the GT will debut on AMG.EA, validated by GT XX prototypes and Nardò records, featuring three axial-flux motors with over 1,300 horsepower and a top speed over 220 mph, and expected to cost more than $208K.
- Looking ahead, AMG plans a swoopy SUV and considers an electric two-door GT coupe, while Mercedes touts 800-volt battery pack charging over 1 megawatt and theatrical Sky Control and ambient lighting features.
