The European Parliament today rejected a proposal for legislation to improve monitoring of the state of forests in the EU, at the initiative of the centre-right European People's Party (EPP). The EPP welcomed the rejection, while the Greens were disappointed with the outcome of the vote. The Brussels proposal thus ended its legislative journey.
