MEPs ask EU Commission to reconsider standardisation approach

Summary by Ground News
Members of the European Parliament that make up the Internal Market and Consumer Protection committee adopted a non-binding resolution. The resolution asks the European Commission to urgently reconsider its approach to standardisation in the light of the James Elliott case. The EU Court equated harmonised standards to law, which opened the door for such standards to be legally challenged.
