The Tate High School Beta Club recently donated hundreds of stuffed animals to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and ECSO victim advocates and deputies will keep these stuffed animals in their vehicles to comfort children in traumatic situations. Locally raised funds propel search for a sheriff’s K-9 unit
In less than three weeks, the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office has received more than $30,000 in donations from residents to support the establishment of a K-9 program. Sheriff David Parker is hopeful the LCSO will learn this week of a dog that would suit the department’s need as a dual-purpose K-9 unit to assist in drug detection and tracking.
