Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: SIT recovers country-made pistol with two magazines from drain in Indore
- Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with four accomplices, killed her husband Raja Raghuvanshi while they were on their honeymoon trip in Meghalaya last month, leading to a major investigation.
- The couple disappeared on May 23 after leaving a homestay in Nongriat village, and Raja's body was found on June 2 about 20 km away from their last known location.
- Investigators apprehended five suspects, including property dealer Shilom James, who tampered with evidence by discarding a black bag that held clothes, jewellery, a country-made pistol, and cash amounting to Rs 5 lakh.
- Based on information obtained from property broker Shilom James and the resident Lokendra Singh Tomar, police recovered a country-made pistol along with two magazines from a drain in Indore, while two suspects declined to provide statements when presented before the magistrate.
- The Special Investigation Team stated they have ample material evidence and are awaiting the Forensic Science Laboratory report as police continue to search for more hidden items linked to the case.
