Meechot Marrero Seeks to Break Stereotypes About Opera

Meechot Marrero, who has been the principal soloist at the Berlin Opera for nine years and performs almost every day in a theater that seats more than 2,000 people, always gets excited when she comes home to Puerto Rico to sing. Although it's an art form that's "uncommon" for Puerto Rican audiences, the soprano sees it as an opportunity to dismantle stereotypes about classical music.
