For over 30 years, the Urkult festival has been a popular meeting place for music and alternative culture. Now that measles is spreading among the participants, a different picture emerges, of an event marked by vaccine resistance. Embarrassing for everyone who likes the festival, says DN's music writer Po Tidholm. The management emphasizes that Urkult "should not become a platform for harmful currents of ideas."

Two cases of measles have now been confirmed by Region Sörmland. The cases can be linked to the Urkult festival, according to the region.
Another young person from Värmland has been infected with measles after the Urkult festival in Sollefteå. But there is no panic at the vaccination clinics. – We have had some conversations but not a huge influx, says operations manager Birgitta Sahlström.
