- On March 4th, 2022 Palou agreed a McLaren deal with an F1 option that effectively went to Oscar Piastri in 2023, and Palou said McLaren used F1 as a `negotiating tactic`.
- Palou said, `Zak told me he believed we could make it happen and that he would give me all the preparation I needed to be an F1 driver for McLaren` when asked about Brown's promises, and denied stringing the team along with `Absolutely not. I think you're twisting the story.`
- McLaren Indy LLC and McLaren Racing are seeking $20.7m from Alex Palou, who admits breaching the 2022-2026 agreement but disputes owing damages and faces reduced salary and legal costs.
- The hearing will resume on October 20 with closing submissions due on November 5, and the trial is set to conclude in November with a written judgment expected later.
