Return to McDonaldland with New Meal Featuring Iconic McDonald’s Characters
UNITED STATES, AUG 5 – The McDonaldland Meal includes collectible tins, a mystery-flavored Mt. McDonaldland Shake, and merch collaborations with Pacsun and Away to engage nostalgic and new fans nationwide.
- Starting Aug. 12, McDonald's will debut the McDonaldland Meal nationwide, featuring a choice of Quarter Pounder With Cheese or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries, a collectible tin, and the Mt. McDonaldland Shake.
- After a hiatus since the early 2000s, McDonaldland returns for the first time in over two decades, having debuted in 1971 and featured in media for more than 20 years.
- The Mt. McDonaldland Shake features a secret concoction of signature soft serve and berry flavors, topped with vibrant blue `lava` and pink clouds, inspired by the volcano from McDonaldland.
- Meanwhile, McDonald's collaborated with Pacsun to release sweat sets and graphic tees on Aug. 12 and with Away for luggage tags and bag charms starting Aug. 18, while supplies last.
- Led by Wieden+Kennedy New York, the campaign includes a 30-second TV commercial, four-event summer tour, Fortnite takeover, and Snapchat AR experience.
