An investigating judge at a Nouakchott court ordered the imprisonment of human rights activist and media personality Warda Ahmed Suleiman on Tuesday/Wednesday evening. Suleiman is known for her activism within one of Mauritania's most prominent anti-slavery human rights organizations.

The investigating judge decided to refer IRA Warda Ahmed Slimane activist to the women's prison. This comes after he reversed his earlier decision to place her under judicial supervision, due to her failure to abide by the conditions set by the judge, including signing in daily with the police and refraining from taking notes.
