With 791 votes obtained, Louis Labadot, outgoing mayor, arrived largely at the lead of the first round in Mauléon. Beñat Elkegaray arrived second (530 votes), Armanda Accoce third (469).
The communist mayor Louis Labadot obtained 44.18% of the votes in Maul. The list of Beñat Elkegaray, which also includes the nationalists, came in second, with 29.60% of the votes; and the list of Armanda Accoce came in third, with 26.20% of the votes.
