Turkish police have arrested 161 suspected members of the ISIS group over the last week, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Friday. The suspects were active within the group and providing financial support, he added in a post on X. They were detained in 38 of Türkiye’s 81 provinces, including the capital Ankara and largest city Istanbul. Yerlikaya said unlicensed firearms, ISIS documents and digital materials were seized in the raids.
The Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, has listed the detainees in 161 and has claimed that they are suspected of "giving financial support to the terrorist organization", before highlighting that the agents have seized various weapons, "numerous organizational documents" and "digital material".
