Marion EMS rescue dog trapped in ice

MARION — A black labrador fell through ice at Washburn Park early Thursday, March 12.  The Marion Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services rescued the dog, which had wandered across the marsh and pond near Point Road.  Marion Fire Chief Brian Jackvony said the department sent two responders in ice rescue survival suits, and the dog was rescued without sustaining any injuries.
