US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Visits Taj Mahal with Wife
Rubio paused a four-city India trip for a 45-minute visit to the Taj Mahal before a Tuesday Quad meeting in New Delhi.
On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited the Taj Mahal in Agra with his wife, Jeanette Rubio, during his four-day diplomatic tour of India.
Rubio took advantage of a one-day break in his schedule before Tuesday's Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, which includes representatives from Australia, India, and Japan.
During the 45-minute visit to the 17th-century monument, Rubio wrote in the visitors' book, "Thank you for allowing us to visit one of the true treasures of the World."
Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is expected to receive Rubio in Jaipur, where he is scheduled to visit the Amber Fort.
The trip aims to revive ties with India as a like-minded partner, as President Donald Trump recently insisted, "we've never been closer to India, and India can count on me 100 percent.
The Taj Mahal, considered one of the world's most beautiful and historic monuments, is renowned worldwide for its grandeur and charm. People from all over the world visit its beauty. The US Secretary of State, who is visiting India, has also posed for several photographs in front of the Taj Mahal.
