The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, foretold that the new Government would have "before 10 June" the date on which the Day of Portugal, Cameroon and the Portuguese Communities was signed. The Head of State claimed that "on the third day, the Republic Assembly is installed" and therefore the Government could not be "designated", nor the prime minister could "present" his team "to be accepted by the President of the Republic".
