Portuguese PR agrees that Equatorial Guinea has finished the integration process

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa believes that Equatorial Guinea completed its integration process into the CPLP after ending the death penalty, a condition of access.

“I myself, and the Prime Minister more emphatically, refer to the step taken by Equatorial Guinea regarding the acceptance [of the end] of the death penalty, which was a decisive obstacle, which dates from 2013, now 10 years ago, to this path to integration,” said Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, at the final press conference with the head of government, António Costa, of the CPLP summit, which took place today in São Tomé.
