Man faces several charges after Wednesday incident

Fremont police were dispatched at 8:43 Wednesday morning to the area of 23rd and North Hancock in reference to a shoplifting complaint. According to the FPD, officers conducted an investigation and Jeff Hammond, who is homeless, was arrested and booked for sex offender registration act violation, possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
