- On July 19, 2025, at approximately 6:05am, a teenage female passenger was the victim of a sexual assault on the platform at Woolwich Arsenal railway station.
- After the assault, she and a 30-year-old man boarded a Thameslink train towards Abbey Wood at about 6:09am, with the rape occurring in a carriage toilet five minutes later.
- The man disembarked at Abbey Wood station, and the girl proceeded by herself to Slade Green station before reporting the matter to the police.
- On July 24, authorities detained a 30-year-old man on allegations of rape; he has since been granted bail while investigations continue.
