Maize and Sorghum Fields Traded in Protected Area of Salamanca for Agave Cultivation

Salamanca, Guanajuato.- In the communities of the northern zone, within the Natural Protected Area of Temascatio, where only maize and sorghum were sown, today some plots of the area of El Huaricho have developed agave crops to seek a better income. In this regard, the Environmental and Territorial Planning Office (PAOT) reported that this practice is prohibited and may even result in sanctions.
