MAISD to end seclusion, reform restraint practices

An investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice into the seclusion and restraint practices utilized by the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District has resulted in a settlement that will see the district end those practices. On June 27, members of the MAISD Board voted unanimously, with President Mark Christensen absent, to accept a settlement agreement with the Justice Department, which was formally announced by the department on Thursday.…
