The Japan Meteorological Agency reported, citing foreign observation agencies, that an earthquake measuring 5.3 occurred 167km southeast of Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan at 12:10 p.m. on the 28th (Korean time). The epicenter was 42.30 degrees north latitude and 143.10 degrees east longitude.
