A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Palauig, Zambales early Sunday morning, December 28, but no damage or aftershocks are expected, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake shook Zambales at 2:26 a.m. today. Based on a report released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was found in the municipality of Palauig in the said province. It had a depth of 30 kilometers and was of tectonic origin.
