A magnitude 2.7 earthquake struck near the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday. The quake was reported at about 12:22 p.m. and was detected a little over a mile northeast of Sherman Oaks, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It hit at a depth of about 3 miles. No damage was immediately reported.
