Guangzhou, China 26 Jul (Latin Press) The Chinese province of Guangdong today records a significant increase in chikungunya fever with more than four thousand confirmed cases, mainly in the city of Foshan. Chikungunya virus infection broke out in Shunde, Guangdong. Officials said that 53 designated hospitals were set up to treat patients. Currently, all hospitalized patients are mildly ill and need a negative nucleic acid test to be discharged. Since the quarantine fee is paid by the patient and is expensive, the patient will not be given medicine if he is not hospitalized and quarantined, which has caused public dissatisfaction.
