Rheinmetall, Lithuanian Partners Set to Begin Work on €300m Ammunition Plant

German defence manufacturer Rheinmetall and its Lithuanian partners will soon begin preparatory work on a new artillery ammunition plant in northern Lithuania, a project worth between €260 million and €300 million, officials said Monday.

As German defense industry giant Rheinmetall, together with Lithuanian companies, begins construction of a ammunition factory worth several hundred million euros in Baisogala, Radviliškis district this year, Mindaugas Keizeris, head of one of the project participants - the state-owned energy group Epso-G, says that work on the site of the future factory will begin soon.
