Rapper Boosie Badazz Accused of Injuring Security Guard During Houston Incident, Court Records Show
Prosecutors say the rapper hit a security guard with a glass hookah base, leaving the guard with a head injury and prompting an aggravated assault charge.
On Monday, a Harris County judge set rapper Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr., known as Boosie Badazz, bond at $85,000 after he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Investigators allege the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on May 24 at the Privilege nightclub on Main Street while a security guard was escorting a patron out of the establishment.
Police documents state the guard was struck in the head with a glass hookah base, requiring eight staples to treat the injury sustained during the confrontation.
His attorney, Carl Moore, described the arrangement as a "walk-through bond," meaning Hatch would not have to return to custody, and claims he was defending another person.
Court records indicate a new court date for Hatch is set for Sept. 15, though he has not yet been arrested regarding the felony charge.
