Lafourche Middle School Student Arrested, Accused of Sharing AI Nude Image of Classmate
A middle school boy faces 10 counts of unlawful dissemination for sharing AI-created explicit images, prompting investigations and proposed felony legislation in Lafourche Parish.
- Yesterday, a Lafourche Parish middle school student from Sixth Ward Middle School was arrested and charged with sharing explicit photos created by artificial intelligence, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said.
- On Aug. 26, 2025 detectives opened an investigation after reports that AI-generated images circulated on a school bus and at Sixth Ward Middle School, with a male student allegedly creating fake nude photos by superimposing a girl's head.
- During the November 5 school board meeting, attorneys Matthew Ory and Benjamin Comeaux said the girl repeatedly reported AI images yet was placed on the bus with the student who showed them, and her attorneys say she was expelled after hitting him.
- The Lafourche Parish District Attorney's Office has not confirmed charges, but State Rep. Bryan Fontenot said he plans to pursue felony legislation for the suspect, the accused male student.
- Investigators say the matter was brought to law enforcement immediately and the probe continues with possible additional arrests, while Sheriff Craig Webre and Joe Raspanti said AI complicates image-related investigations.
