- Senior Associate Commissioner Butch Cope also announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2027, after 32 years with the KHSAA. Cope manages volleyball, regular-season basketball, archery, and baseball.
- The KHSAA will add pickleball and girls flag football starting in the 2027-28 school year, continuing the expansion of student-athlete opportunities in the organization's 109-year history.
