“Honoring A.J. Rivers, the humanitarian”   A.J. Rivers was born September 18, 1925 and passed away May 26, 2025. He was a World War 2 veteran (1943-1946) was the first African American elected to a city wide office in Cordele as Commissioner from 1972-2015.
